Summer Youth Conservation
Camps
(Sponsored by MSU Extension - Forestry Department)
Camp I: June 15– June 21
Camp II: July 6 – July 12
Camp III: July 20– July 26
Recommended Ages: 9-16, boys and girls
Emphasis: Mississippi Hunter Safety Course,
Outdoor Skills, Wildlife Study
Special Activities: Wildlife study and tours,
animal tracking and nature study, proficiency training with bows…22
rifles… shotguns, skeet shoot, fishing and canoeing, campfire
stories, game calling, spotlighting nocturnal animals, birding,
identification of natural foods and safe water retrieval, shelters,
first aid…CPR
Numerous Industry Instructors & Camp Visitors.
Some may include: Primos Hunting Calls, Frank Massey… USDA
Predator Control Specialist, National Guard Drug Interdiction Team,
Tes Jolly…Renowned journalist and outdoor enthusiast, MS WF&P
Law Enforcement Agents, Natural Science Museum Staff, MS WF&P
Biologist/Fisheries Representatives.
* Note* Although MSU Extension Forestry Department sponsors and
fills most slots for these camps, most weeks have slots available.

Check-in time for all summer camps is Sunday Afternoon at 5 PM. Saturday Pick-up time is 10:00 AM
* Camp Awards – DVD Program begins at 10:00 AM
All Tara Camps are Licensed by Mississippi Department of Health
