Birding

Located in the Mississippi Flyway, a migratory route for waterfowl and neotropicals, Tara Wildlife provides a great opportunity to view a variety of birds and wildlife throughout the seasons.

Canoeing

Scenic canoe or kayak trips can be made on two of Tara’s lakes: Halpino Lake (300 acres) and Forest Home Chute. Both lakes have concrete ramps and are easy to access.

Nature Trails

Whether you are on a bicycle or on foot, you will enjoy the peace and quiet of the outdoors and have the opportunity to view native wildlife and enjoy scenic vistas. Trails are easy to moderate and range from 2.4 miles (round trip) to 3.8 miles.

Mountain Biking

With over 50 miles of grass and dirt roads, you can experience scenic views and pause to enjoy the wildlife along the way. Our deep forest trails offer extended rides for the more accomplished bikers.
